LEATHER FURNITURE CLEANINGProfessional residential and commercial leather cleaning in Logan, Utah
Professional Leather Cleaning Logan, Utah
Chem-Dry is one of the leading companies in the carpet and upholstery cleaning industry. On top of that, we also offer outstanding leather furniture cleaning services in Cache Valley and Logan.
Over time, body oils, perspiration and other stains easily work their way into your leather furniture. Most cleaning products out there are not appropriate for leather and can break down leather finishes—leading to dryness and cracking.
Chem-Dry of Northern Utah’s leather cleaning products are not only safe but effectively clean and restore your leather furniture. Regular cleaning also helps prevent unnecessary wear and keeps your leather furniture looking great.
Causes of Leather Deterioration
- Oils and Grease: Body oils from humans and animals attach and hold onto leather. Hair and hand oils are also easily transferred to the head cushions and arm rests of the furniture. This can cause serious damage to your leather’s protective finish.
- Atmospheric Soils: Consider the dust that builds up on a coffee table or desk over a week. This same dust is deposited on your leather. In addition to the dust, airborne cooking oils and atmospheric pollutants are present, to some degree, in every home.
- Common Soils: This includes common dirt tracked in from outside. Like sand or dirt and fibers from plants. Outside dirt is brought into your home by adults, kids, and pets and attaches to the leather every time the furniture is used.
- Dyes and Inks: The ink from newspapers is easily and accidentally transferred to leather. In a process called dye transfer, your clothes, primarily denim, can also transfer dye onto leather. The ink from a leaky pen or the aspiring toddler artist can’t be forgotten either.
Scuffs, Scratches, Cuts, and Fading
Over time, it’s normal to experience some of the common problems associated with leather furniture. Our Logan Chem-Dry certified technicians are highly trained in leather care and maintenance. We have 60 stock pigment colors that are similar to ones commonly used in the leather tanning process. This enables us to repair scrapes and scratches found on protected leather furniture.
Additionally, we can revitalize color on sensitive aniline leathers. One of our certified technicians will walk you through the process and go over any areas of concern. We know leather is an investment and we aim to leave it looking like new.
How Often Should I Clean My Leather?
We recommend professional cleaning 1-2 times a year. In between professional cleanings, you can maintain the look and health of your leather furniture with Chem-Dry Soft Cleaner®. Additionally, you can rejuvenate the protection with Chem-Dry Protection Cream®. Both products are found in the Chem-Dry Home Leather Care Kit® available from Chem-Dry of Northern Utah in Logan, UT.
