Find out how Chem-Dry of Northern Utah can make your home a healthier place.

Home Health Study

Did you know that your home is actually full of allergens and bacteria? Your carpets and upholstery actually help trap a lot of these harmful particles and keep them out of the air. This air filter-like process is important for your health and indoor air quality.

For the 1 in 5 Americans (roughly 60 million) that have allergies or asthma, allergen removal is especially important. Your carpets and upholstery filtration helps your indoor air stay more clean and fresh. However, it also means your carpet and upholstery regularly absorb dirt and allergens. When your carpets and furniture get too dirty, they can no longer effectively clean your air. That’s where Chem-Dry of Northern Utah comes in!

We know that you want the best, healthiest home for your family, especially when allergies or other health concerns are in play. That’s why Chem-Dry had an independent laboratory test our core cleaning methods against common household allergens and bacteria. We’re happy to share those results with you.

Hot Carbonating Extraction Process Makes Homes Healthier

Chem-Dry’s Hot Carbonating Extraction (HCE) process was tested in multiple homes by a leading independent air quality laboratory. The lab concluded that Chem-Dry removes an average of 98.1% of common household allergens from carpets and upholstery. The common allergens tested were dog and cat dander and dust mite allergens. Additionally, an average of 89% of airborne bacteria was removed.

Remove Bacteria and Improve Indoor Air Quality

Indoor air quality is also a significant home health concern. The average home can harbor as much as 200,000 bacteria per square inch of carpet. Bacteria builds up and regularly circulates through the air unless you properly clean your carpet and upholstery. Chem-Dry of Northern Utah carpet and upholstery cleaning effectively removes bacteria and improves overall air quality.

Pet Urine Removal Treatment (P.U.R.T.®)

Common odor sources from cat and dog urine were tested against Chem-Dry. An independent laboratory also conducted multiple tests on our revolutionary pet urine odor and stain removal process. The study found that P.U.R.T. removes an average of 99.9% of pet urine odors from carpets. When paired with a sanitizer, the study also concluded that our pet urine removal eliminates an average of 99.2% of the bacteria from pet urine carpet stains.

Tile and Grout Cleaning

Our tile and grout cleaning  was also tested. Based on several tests on tile surfaces in multiple homes, the study concluded that our tile, stone, and grout cleaning process removes an average of 98.6% of bacteria.

After each tile cleaning, we also offer to seal your tile and grout. Our tile sealant helps your grout stay cleaner for longer and maintenance is simple because dirt will no longer be able to penetrate deep into the cracks.

Indoor quality is especially important to those who suffer from allergies and disorders like asthma, but it impacts all of us. Too many allergens in the air can make it hard to breathe and can even prompt an allergic reaction or asthma attack in prone individuals.

If you think that indoor air quality doesn’t affect you, consider that we spend an average of 90% of our time indoors! That’s why it’s so important to have good indoor air quality. It turns out that one of the best ways to control air quality is to keep your carpets clean so they can trap allergens without releasing them back into the air. Professional carpet cleaning is so important for the health of your home and your family. However, not all carpet cleaning services are alike.
