So why would we willingly introduce harsh chemicals directly into our air, lakes, streams, and forests? We shouldn’t be doing that with carpets either!
For over two decades now Chem-Dry has been devoted to offering green-certified carpet cleaning as part of its commitment to sustainability.
Our primary cleaning solution, The Natural®, uses natural ingredients and is on the FDA’s G.R.A.S. list. However, our dedication to being green doesn’t stop there. Chem-Dry’s cleaning processes use 1/5 the amount of water that steam cleaners use.
The Green Cleaning Standard
Our dedication to sustainability is one way we work to provide healthier and cleaner homes. We have always held ourselves to high standards, which is why Chem-Dry created a program that looks at how our products affect people, pets, and the environment.
Health, Toxicity, and Safety
- Oral Toxicity: products do not include hazardous substances ingested through the mouth
- Dermal Toxicity: products do not include poisonous substances that enter through skin contact
- Inhalation Toxicity: products do not distribute harmful pollutants that are breathed in from the atmosphere
- No Carcinogens: products do not include agents which increase the likelihood of cancer
Protection of Aquatic Life
High standards for biodegradability and not bioaccumulate. Products won’t damage our streams or Mother Earth.
Safety for Materials Contacted
The pH of the solution of the products must be no less than 3 and no greater than 10.
Clean Air Requirements
The solution must not contain damaging levels of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
