History of the Chem-Dry Brand
Robert Harris began his journey through law school in the 1970’s, working for several different carpet cleaning companies along the way. Dissatisfied with the available options of cleaners, he took it upon himself to find a better solution and researched cleaner formulas for many years. However, simply reading about various formulas wasn’t enough- he also experimented by using them on carpets repeatedly until he found one that worked best. The process was similar to how Edison tried over a hundred times to build the perfect lightbulb before finally succeeding.
Eventually, Robert Harris discovered the ideal cleaning formula. His unique carbonated solution delivered exceptional cleaning and was also safe and non-toxic. Harris founded Chem-Dry and soon the demand for his superior cleaning services grew exponentially.
His entrepreneurial journey blossomed into a thriving success that has continued to grow since those first days in the early 70’s. From the very first small group of franchise locations, the original Chem-Dry network has expanded over recent decades to offer thousands of successful franchises throughout the world, including Chem-Dry of Northern Utah in Logan, UT.
